The Mitutoyo TM-505B (176-818-11) is a compact toolmakers' microscope for measuring dimensions and angles of workpiece features, ideal for shopfloors with limited space. Angles are measured by turning the 360° angle scale to line the cross-hair reticle up with the feature edges, and screw or gear profiles can be checked by fitting an optional reticle in the eyepiece. Transmitted and surface illumination are both white LED, with adjustable intensity. Micrometer heads for the X and Y axes are optional (standard 152-389/152-390 or Digimatic 164-164).
