Käfer ZO 3 S is a precision shockproof inch dial gauge made in Germany, with dimensions to DIN EN ISO 463 and a metric 8 mm stem, for accurate comparative measurement. It has a shockproof movement: a sprung gear rack sleeve along the spindle stops knocks to the contact point reaching the movement. The large hand has fine adjustment, so it can be set to zero with the knurled screw at the top without turning the bezel.
